With support from the USAID-funded Preparedness and Response (P&R) Project, the One Health Platform engaged stakeholders from the Ministry of Health (MOH), Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF),
Ministry of Water and Environment (MWE), and the Uganda Wildlife Authority of the Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities (MoTWA) in a series of strategic planning workshops and meetings. This document captures the priorities, outputs, and commitments from those engagements. The Plan is aligned around five strategic objectives, which together cover commitment to One Health among high-level government stakeholders; institutionalization and capacity building to ensure effective operation of the One Health Platform; strengthened preparedness and response to zoonotic diseases, AMR, and biosecurity threats; and communications and outreach to enhance awareness of the value of the One Health Approach. These strategic objectives will lead to the goal of building resilient, sustainable systems to prevent and respond to zoonotic diseases and address AMR and biosecurity.
